Unseen: attractive locations for our message “Freight belongs on rail”
They are around 6 metres long and 2.5 metres high and wide - the green 20-foot transport containers that will be set up in seven major German cities on 16 April 2021, including Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich. And they carry the unmistakable message: "Freight belongs on rail". Our goal is to create more visibility for green transport logistics in Germany.
"Green transport logistics can make a decisive contribution to achieving the German government's climate policy goals and the associated reduction of CO2 emissions" says Dr. Sigrid Nikutta, Member of the Board of Management for Freight Transport at Deutsche Bahn and CEO of DB Cargo.
For a sustainable transport turnaround, we need to fulfil three points in particular:
- shift the economy towards supply chains that are as CO2-free as possible
- simplify climate-friendly logistics
- combine rail and road intelligently.
We intend to encourage this and win over as many supporters as possible.
