The journey continues.
And again, a freight-belongs-on-rail container has been spotted. After Ulm and Dörpen, this time in the middle of the Rhine-Main area. To be precise, in our Railport in Darmstadt.
The multifunctional logistics centre is centrally located near the main railway station and enables more efficient transhipment between the modes of transport rail and road. It consists of two large-area halls with 430 metres of tracks and four sidings. Thanks to its flexible infrastructure, the Railport is designed for all kinds of goods - from hot-rolled steel coils and granite/marble blocks to roll, format and hygiene papers.
This time, the goods-on-the-rail container had a very special freight in its luggage: the DB Award 2020. The coveted prize has been awarded annually since 2002 for special top performance and thus stands for appreciation, recognition, pride and solidarity, which the DB Group would like to express. This time, the DB Award went to the entire "TEAM DB" in recognition of the unique commitment of all employees during the Corona pandemic. That is why the trophy is now on a journey across the country. And if you look closely, you can actually see the award in the hands of one of the proud winners (6th from right).
