Rail freight is not only the environmentally friendly alternative to road transport, but it can also contribute to supporting charitable projects. This was demonstrated in the run-up to "Channel Aid - live in concert" on January 3rd, 2023 in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. Together with our subsidiaries DB Cargo Transa and TFG Transfracht, we ensured that the equipment, technology, and decorations for the concert and after-party were transported in an environmentally friendly manner from all over Germany to Hamburg. On New Year's Day, German pop singer Wincent Weiss presented his songs in a unique orchestral version together with the Matheheus Ensemble under the direction of Jean-Christophe Spinosi in the Elbphilharmonie. KAYEF and Loi were the support acts, while the event was moderated by Radio Hamburg moderator Christian Stübinger.
This event was part of the "Channel Aid - live in concert" series, which was launched by the FABS Foundation and Channel Aid and is aimed at a young target group. The proceeds from ticket sales and the live stream are used to support three international social projects: Right to Play, Laureus Sport for Good, and Chance to Dance. These projects enable children and people with disabilities to access sports and dance activities and promote integration into society. The social projects:
Right to Play is an international children's aid organization that promotes the potential of children through play and sport and helps them take charge of their own future. Laureus Sport for Good uses sport to give children new opportunities and to equalize societal differences. Chance to Dance is a project of the FABS Foundation and the Hamburg dance school "Mein Tanzstudio" that offers dance courses for people with disabilities and focuses on individual attention to their needs and integration into society.
